Finished Pit Fire Ceramics
(My piece was lost in the ashes. RIP Billy Bob.)
1.) In pit fired ceramics, you make something out of clay like normal. Then, you fire it and put stuff on it like hair or dog food or egg shells or salt. You wrap that in aluminum foil and then put it in a barrel with a bunch of wood and set that on fire to get the desired affect.
2.) I felt that only putting the salt onto my piece was successful. I would make my piece smoother were I to make it again.
3.) I burned hair and salt onto my piece.
